- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in building maintenance, you will monitor and respond to the operation of building systems including all water treatment systems (R.O. water system, water softener, and hot water heating system, chilled water system, and glycol fluid coolers and cooling tower).
- You will ensure lighting, heating, ventilation, fire protection, access control and other building systems are operating to standard.
- You will operate computerized Building Automation System and make changes to programs as required to accommodate the needs of specific uses (i.e. Laboratory Operations and environmental requirements.).
- Utilizing your organization skills, you will maintain and update records (blueprint changes, schematics, repair history, supplier specifications, etc.) on all essential building equipment/systems.
- Always keeping safety in mind, you will maintain buildings and grounds to ensure security and cleanliness.
- You will inspect fire sprinkler stations weekly, fire extinguishers monthly, and verify as well as maintain all Building Fire Equipment in accordance with the Fire code and all relevant internal Policy and Procedures.
- You will perform generalized departmental support functions and performs back to Maintenance Person as required, including minor repairs on non-critical, non-regulated equipment.
- Completion of secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Minimum four (4) years' experience is required.
- Fourth Class Stationary Engineer Certificate, Systems Maintenance Technician or equivalent, would be considered an asset.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Technical skills including Word and Excel is required.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
