Explore with us-your journey starts here.What You'll DoUnder the direction of the Dietary Services Manager the Cook contributes to the efficient operation of the department with responsibility to produce high quality meals in a safe and sanitary environment. They will also participate in the preparation and service of safe and nutritious meals to residents, staff and visitors in a pleasant and respectful manner.What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience
  • Chef training or culinary management diploma or certificate granted by a college of applied arts and technology or a career college;
  • Certificate of qualification in the trade of Cook or Institutional Cook that was issued by,
(i) the Director of Apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998,
(ii) the Registrar of the College under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, or
(iii) the Registrar of Skilled Trades Ontario under the Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021; orhas, in the reasonable opinion of the licensee, appropriate skills, knowledge and experience (at least three years) in the fields of institutional, health care, restaurant or hospitality cooking to perform the duties required of the position.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification as per O.Reg.493/17 of the Food Premises Act
