- You'll plan, organize, and maintain the operation of the finance and accounting department including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- You’ll develop and enforce well-maintained financial documents, policies, systems, and internal controls ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- You’ll prepare and organize timely finance and accounting statements, summaries, reports, and other cost-benefit analyses, including year-to-date actuals, forecasts, and variance explanations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- You’ll collaborate with the Finance Manager and other members of the senior leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with and support the company’s objectives.
- You'll investigate and respond to all finance and accounting inquiries promptly and accurately.
- You'll connect the dots between financial results and company initiatives spanning across all of our core teams to bolster positive revenue trends and short circuit negative ones.
- You’ll ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax planning and filing.
- You'll work closely with external contractors, clients, and affiliate partners.
- You’ll maintain relationships with banking partners, external auditors, and additional stakeholders in the financial industry.
- You'll support stretch projects and assist the team as needed.
- You'll wear many different hats in a lean, agile, and fast-paced culture.
- You live in the Greater Moncton area, and are legally eligible to work in Canada.
- You have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a finance and accounting role within a tech startup, or fast-growing company environment, especially in Fintech and/or a B2C business.
- You have a BA in finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field – or relevant professional experience.
- You have a CPA designation or are working towards one.
- You have strong knowledge of federal and provincial laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to finance and accounting best practices.
- You are organized with a capital “O” – you get things sorted, completed, and delivered on time (or earlier).
- You can think on your feet ‒ no problem is too big and no question is too difficult ‒ you know how to find the right answers, online and offline.
- You're a self-starter, reliable, and trustworthy ‒ you care about your team and doing your work well.
- You have a strong command of financial planning and revenue technology tools including, but not limited to Quickbooks, data visualization tools, client dashboards, and more.
- You're a tech wizard, live in the cloud, and can learn any software with ease.
- You're a whiz with numbers and spreadsheets, and math doesn't scare you.
