We are looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing Corporate Development team. In this role, you will lead origination efforts across multiple verticals, driving top-of-funnel acquisition activity and helping build a scalable, data-driven business development engine.Ideal candidates will have 4â6 years of experience in business development, M&A origination, or enterprise software salesâpreferably within a Vertical Market Software (VMS) business or similar indsutry. You should bring proven deal exposure across at least two organizations and a strong track record of sourcing, relationship-building, and funnel management.This role offers direct exposure to C-level decision-makers and founders, and a path to more senior investment or leadership positions within the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesOrigination Strategy & ExecutionTake ownership of outbound origination campaigns across targeted verticals.Identify and qualify acquisition targets using market mapping, competitor intelligence, and CRM analytics.Execute multi-channel outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, events) to generate qualified opportunities.Craft compelling, tailored messaging that resonates with software founders and executives.Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain trusted relationships with company owners, operators, bankers, and intermediariesâwhether or not they are actively exploring a sale.Serve as a credible and informed representative of our investment philosophy and long-term value proposition.Market Insights & Vertical DevelopmentCollaborate on the development of investment theses and deep vertical strategies.Provide ongoing feedback to refine our approach, based on founder conversations and market shifts.Pipeline Ownership & Deal CollaborationOwn and maintain Salesforce pipeline with precision; ensure data integrity and visibility across the funnel.Monitor KPIs (outreach, engagement, conversion rates) and identify areas for process improvement.Coordinate handoffs to the M&A team for qualified leads and support initial diligence as needed.Qualifications4â6 years of experience in business development, M&A origination, or enterprise software sales.Experience within a VMS business or similar industries.Demonstrated deal exposure across at least two different organizations.A metrics-oriented mindset with strong CRM discipline (Salesforce expertise required).Proven success building and managing a target pipeline and driving outbound execution.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with founders and C-suite.Strategic thinker who can align BD activity with broader M&A and vertical strategies.
