  • Project: This is a hands-on delivery role focused on building and releasing ServiceNow solutions. As a ServiceNow Technical Engineer, your role is to deliver hands on ServiceNow HRSD solutions through direct development and configuration. You focus on building script objects, implementing integrations, testing changes, and deploying production ready functionality that supports HR service delivery module.
  • This role is execution focused. You design solutions and develop integrations through hands on work, align stakeholder activities to avoid technical debt, and directly contribute to the delivery of integration work. Success is measured by the quality, speed, and reliability of the solutions you build and release.
  • You’ll partner with senior leaders, product managers, and engineering teams to define and implement modern architecture for ServiceNow HRSD and digital employee experience. You’ll lead by example and champion best practices that drive agility, resilience, and excellence across the enterprise.
Typical Day in Role:
  • ServiceNow Solution Development:
o Lead the creation, configuration, and customization of ServiceNow applications and modules (e.g., HRSD) for new and existing implementations.
o Develop and configure script objects (Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies/Actions, Client Scripts, ACLs), notifications, service level agreements, and data models.
o Set up and support integrations between ServiceNow and other platforms using REST/SOAP Web Services and other integration technologies.
o Troubleshoot, perform unit/system/integration testing, and recommend best practices in ServiceNow administration and development.
o Document design, development, test cases, and implementation plans.
  • Operational Excellence:
o Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, resolve incidents promptly, and communicate outcomes clearly to business partners.
o Support small to large development and maintenance efforts across HR ServiceNow, including work involving multiple interfaces and third party integrations.
o Contribute hands on to the ongoing design, build, and enhancement of HR ServiceNow to meet HR Service Delivery requirements.
o Apply a user centred, design thinking mindset when building and enhancing solutions to improve usability and outcomes.
o Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates and emerging capabilities, and apply relevant changes to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
o Proactively identify and implement improvements that reduce operational risk, support effort, and technical debt.
o Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for system designs, configurations, and user guidance.Candidate Value Proposition:

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
  • 5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow configuration experience, including custom development and integration, with at least 2-3 years of ServiceNow HRSD experience
  • CIS-HR and/or Administrator certification required
  • Experience with integrations between ServiceNow and other tools/systems
  • Proven working experience implementing, updating, testing and supporting core ServiceNow components; understanding of ServiceNow implementation end to end cycle.
  • Experience writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation and ability to create analytical reporting.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Experience working with SAP SuccessFactors HCM.
  • Deep expertise in data architecture, data modeling, cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, Azure), and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience working with Genesys Telephony System
  • Fluency in modern programming concepts, with hands-on experience in programming such as Java, Python, REST/SOAP web services, JSON and database concepts.
Soft Skills Required:
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
  • Strong communication skills
Education:
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent education/experience in software development.
  • CIS-HR and/or Administrator certification required.
  • ServiceNow Developer, Certified Application Developer (CAD), is an asset.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
  • Best candidates demonstrate strong independence, confidently lead their own technical delivery, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong HRSD Experience – Excellent functional and technical knowledge of ServiceNow processes and modules, including but not limited to: Document Management, Knowledge, Employee Portal, HR (Case Management, Lifecycle, Journey design, Dashboards & Reports), and Universal request (asset).
Candidate Review & Selection – Interview Process
  • 2 rounds – both in person MS Teams Video Interviews – 30 minutes
  • 1st – with HM and Senior Manager on the team
  • 2nd – with Director
