The Opportunity:Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturer in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a Small Lathe Machinist to join their team on a day shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on machinist who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a close-knit, team-oriented environment.What You'll Do:Set up machine/lathe by using efficient techniques and proper toolingMachine on both small (16” diameter) and large (35” OD +) manual lathe within tight tolerances (0.001”)Machine parts on Horizontal boring milling machineClean and maintain machine shop equipment through preventative maintenance programsUse various measuring tools such as pie tapes, inside gauges, and micrometersRead various blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing languages What You'll Need to Be Successful:2-4 years of previous machining experience using a manual engine latheStrong troubleshooting skills both technically and mechanicallyStrong knowledge of all measuring toolsProficiency in trigonometry and excellent problem solving abilitiesAbility to read complex blueprints using GDT languagesAbility to work as a team playerGeneral machinist ticket considered an asset Compensation expectation: 73,000/annually
