Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Health Services Manager, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the initiation and management of invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation and also acts as an expert of advanced airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing. Respiratory Therapists act as part of the multidisciplinary health care team to: help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status assess, plan, deliver and evaluate effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients. Duties may also be assigned in the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab, Asthma Clinic, COPD Clinic, Sleep Lab and any other related clinics.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
- Must hold/maintain registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Must hold/maintain certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Travel to other sites may be required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent Part-time 80%: 60 hours bi-weekly
