- Collaborate and drive improvement in a robust, cross-functional SIOP process to align demand forecasts, production capabilities, and inventory strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to understand demand drivers and incorporate them into production schedules and forecasts.
- Mentor manufacturing teams, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, openness and sharing information to foster unity.
- Monitor production performance and provide regular updates to senior management, demonstrating sound judgment and understanding the impact of team actions on business drivers and adapting to industry changes.
- Oversee daily MRP activities, master production schedule, and cost center scheduling to ensure feasible production plans based on internal and external capacity, inventory availability, and customer requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the ERP/MRP system to facilitate effective planning and purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels, set optimal stock targets, and develop strategies to manage obsolete inventory.
- Work closely with the Procurement team to align the supply plan with demand, track supplier performance, and resolve material shortages.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of Planning & Material Analysts, and a Shipping/Receiving/Stores Supervisor, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance the team's skills in planning, analytics, and systems (ERP/MRP).
- Act as a change agent, leading system/application implementations, standardization efforts, and process improvements.
- Drive advancement of our safety culture, ensuring risks are assessed and activities are conducted in a safe manner.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as master schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and inventory status, using data driven insights to identify issues and opportunities.
- Ensure all planning and procurement activities are in compliance with relevant defense industry regulations (e.g., ITAR, FAR/DFAR, ISO9001/AS9100 standards), supporting internal and external audits as needed.
- A degree/diploma in Manufacturing, Operations or Supply Chain Management or a related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical preferred). Minimum of 8+ years of experience in production planning roles within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Strong working knowledge and expertise in SIOP processes and methodologies.
- Deep understanding of MRP functionality and experience with major ERP systems (ie: SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, etc…). Experience with Infor LN is considered an asset.
- Proficient in data analysis tools, highly advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data driven approach to decision-making.
- Adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to continuous process improvement in a rapidly growing environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques is considered an asset.
- Eligibility for clearance with Controlled Goods Program and Government of Canada security clearance is required.
- ACSM CPIM certification (Association for Supply Chain Management - Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) is highly preferred
