
Senior Storage Specialist

- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise storage and backup infrastructure, including NetApp Storage, NetBackup, Block & File Storage, S3, VMware VSAN, and disaster recovery/business continuity technologies
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and solutions for complex technical problems affecting storage, backup, and recovery systems
- Support application storage and recovery requirements (e.g., Databases, Messaging, Hypervisors)
- Deliver capacity planning, KPI metrics, reporting, and advisory services to internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex projects—contributing to requirements gathering, solution design, and technical architecture
- Collaborate with vendors, evaluate emerging technologies, and make recommendations for optimization
- Mentor and coach team members, participate in recruitment activities, and share knowledge to strengthen the team’s capabilities
- Develop technical strategies, policies, processes, and documentation that promote operational excellence
- Participate in the on-call rotation, with occasional evening or weekend work
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- At least 5 years of recent, relevant experience in enterprise storage and backup infrastructure
- Advanced knowledge of NetApp, NetBackup, VMware VSAN, cloud storage (S3), and disaster recovery/business continuity technologies
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively
- Project management experience including requirements analysis, estimating, and vendor evaluation
- Team leadership experience
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to different audiences
- Ability to coach, mentor, and guide technical staff
- Programming ability in languages such as Go, Python, Ruby, or Java is an asset
- Certification in relevant storage technologies is highly desirable
