The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality, scalable, and highly available applications in collaboration with cross‑functional technology teams. This role contributes to the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of complex systems, with a strong focus on microservices, cloud-native architectures, and real-time, high-volume applications, particularly within Risk Management and Capital Markets domains.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement robust, scalable software solutions using Java and Spring-based frameworks with strong algorithmic and data structure foundationsParticipate in feasibility studies, system analysis, time and cost estimation, IT planning, and risk assessments to support business objectivesDevelop and maintain business-critical, high-volume, real-time, and highly available applications, including web-based Risk Management systemsLead and contribute across all phases of the SDLC: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production supportBuild and deploy microservices-based applications on cloud infrastructure using container technologiesImplement and integrate messaging and asynchronous processing solutions (e.g., Kafka, gRPC, JMS)Ensure application reliability, performance, security, and observability using modern monitoring and logging stacksParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture sessions, contributing ideas and best practicesProvide timely support and troubleshooting for production issues, coordinating with support, infrastructure, and other development teamsRecommend and implement post‑deployment improvements, security controls, and process enhancementsAct as a subject matter expert (SME), advising senior stakeholders and mentoring junior developersManage multiple tasks and dependencies effectively to deliver high-quality, on-time solutionsEnsure adherence to enterprise standards, policies, regulatory requirements, and sound risk management practicesRequired Qualifications6+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications as a Senior or Full Stack DeveloperStrong expertise in Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring CloudSolid understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, multi-threading, and parallel processingProven experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native developmentStrong experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShiftExperience with messaging and streaming technologies including Kafka, gRPC, JMS, and GraphQLHands-on experience with persistence technologies, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, distributed caches (e.g., Ignite)Good understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and testing frameworks such as JUnitExperience with observability and monitoring tools such as ELK, Grafana, and PrometheusProven experience integrating and leveraging Generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance developer productivity and application capabilitiesPreferred / Nice-to-HaveExperience in the financial services industry, particularly in Risk Management or Capital MarketsWorking knowledge of Fixed Income productsExperience with Python scripting and data analysisExperience with TrinoKnowledge of enterprise risk and regulatory considerationsEducationBachelor’s degree or University degree, or equivalent practical experienceThis job description provides a high-level overview of the responsibilities and qualifications required.
