The incumbent is responsible completing data/financial analyses & projections and interpreting the implications of these findings on the business. The person will also offer support to the stores and communicate with various internal departments.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform period-end close activities, including journal entries, analysis of accounts and concise variance explanations to support review of consolidated financial resultsMaintain strong relationships with stores and internal corporate stakeholders and provide support as necessary with interpreting financial results.Actively seek opportunities for process improvement & escalate high risk activityDevelop and maintain reference documentation as necessarSupport ad hoc projects and initiatives as requiredSkills, Experience & EducationSkillsThis position requires a demonstrated level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks and workload. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze data to identify and quantify business opportunities/risksMust be able to provide sound analysis and comparisons with some guidanceAttention to detail and an appreciation and acumen for placing/having thorough checks in placeBusiness acumen - knowledge of accounting guidelines, principles and proceduresStrong organizational skills and able to prioritize work with varying exceptionsCommunicates with clarity in one on one or group situations, and over the telephone/video callsAdvanced Excel Skills & knowledge of MicroStrategy; working knowledge of macros and Power BI and SAP an assetDemonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and contributeTeam player with the ability to collaborate and share information while striving under pressure in a fast-paced high-performance cultureProfessional manner, tact and discretion in dealing with colleagues including senior managementExperienceMinimum 2 years of previous work experience within Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent preferred.EducationUniversity degree in Business or AccountingIn the progress to or in the final stages of professional accounting designation would be asset.Our commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact.
