- Prepare financial statements and management reports rigorously and within the required deadlines;
- Recommend and establish financial control procedures in accordance with current accounting standards;
- Develop solutions to resolve accounting discrepancies and other financial issues/issues;
- Ensure the accuracy of reports produced by the system, as well as those prepared manually;
- Ensure that all financial reports are prepared in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements, in addition to comply with iA Group policies and procedures;
- Support the company in the implementation of the IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 standards according to the new requirements;
- Produce internal and external reports, including financial statements;
- Collaborate in reviewing the accounting processes, including the closing process;
- Help answer questions and produce reconciliations required for external and internal audits;
- Participate in the production of the half-yearly regulatory report;
- Prepare product evaluation reports in collaboration with the actuarial department;
- Prepare and post the corresponding General Ledger journal entries;
- Prepare financial reports for various reinsurance, profit sharing and partnership agreements;
- Support partners with their accounting questions and needs;
- Actively contribute to varied and stimulating projects.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience in accounting;
- Fully proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Excellent language skills in French and English, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English- and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and the United States;
- Well-developed analytical and interpersonal skills to enable the candidate to gather, interpret and analyze information and communicate analysis results to internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, market-driven environment, juggling multiple initiatives and constantly re-evaluating priorities;
- Autonomy and initiative to provide appropriate recommendations to improve analyzes and processes;
- Excellent teamwork skills, solution orientation and positive attitude;
- Versatility and rigor.
- CPA title obtained or in the process of obtaining (considerable asset);
- Good knowledge of IFRS standards, or willingness to learn;
- Knowledge of the insurance sector;
- Knowledge of Oracle EPR.
