
Environmental Technician Co-op Student

- Perform site inspections (exploration drills, mill, septic, tailings infrastructure, hazardous waste, waste sorting facilities) to ensure compliance with environmental standards
- Field Work (Surface Water sampling, Groundwater sampling/monitoring, Hydrometric flow measurements and monitoring, data downloads, biological monitoring and other as assigned) on-site as well as off-site at some remote locations using a variety of equipment.
- Support the writing of various internal and external reports and procedures.
- Present training material to all employees on environmental policies and procedures. Ensure all new workers receive the proper training so that they can contribute to the site’s environmental performance
- Interpret water quality data and conduct data entry.
- Respond to environmental emergencies and incidents
- Work independently and as a team member
- Safely operate a variety of equipment such as telehandlers, snow machines, quads, boats, etc.
- Perform calibration and maintenance on environmental monitoring equipment
- Working towards a relevant degree or diploma in an Environmental field (Science, Earth &Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science/Resource & Sustainability, Biology, Engineering orother)
- Working and/or theoretical knowledge of effluent release provincial and federal requirements.
- Experience with Spill Response and Mitigation Self-starter who can anticipate needs and workindependently
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competingpriorities in a fast paced, growing work environment.
- The incumbent will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (oral/written communication andpresentation), a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- September 2025 start date. Placement will be for a minimum of an 8-month term. This position is based at the Island Gold District site working on a rotation schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off. Flights are available from the GTA, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Rouyn-Noranda, QC. Accommodations and food will be provided by the company while on rotation.
