At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.About the PositionThis position is responsible for assisting clients with a broad range of issues ranging from providing general information about ALS Geochemistry services, products, and pricing, assisting with internet access of their data and helping resolve logistical problems, to ensuring that our clients receive efficient and accurate service and information while maintaining a professional standard both internally and externally.Specific ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent client service to our clients and global ALS branches, including information on analytical methods, quality control and turnaround times;Liaise with clients to respond to all inquiries, resolve concerns, and collect information regarding specific project requirements in a timely and professional manner;Monitors and handles all client services requests into main client services box;May be required to investigate and obtain approval for special analytical requests and project requirements;Prepares client quotations and communicates quote information with clients;Maintains client contact information in GEMS;May assist with and attend local trade shows;Distributes failed reports globally;Assists with distributing client service surveys, collecting information and preparing reports for issue to regional managers;Assist with client logistics within WCAN;Preparation of turnaround time reports to top tiered clients, as required;Answers and responds to client phone calls on the client services line;Regularly updates internal departments and Account Managers with client information, client instructions, or client inquiries;Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;Other duties as assigned by manager.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities;Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people professionally;Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal;Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically MS Word and Excel;Ability to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues;Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality and safety;Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks;Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision;Demonstrates judgment, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve.Required QualificationsKnowledge of the periodic table of elements required.Recognized Degree or Technical Diploma in Geological or Chemical Sciences or a related field;Experience in mineral exploration, a laboratory setting, or a related service industry preferred;Previous customer service experience required.Physical DemandsAble to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilitiesAble to use and view a computer screen for up to eight (8) hours per day;Able to communicate via telephone and e-mail without assistance.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
