
Public Health Nurse

- Educating clients in the prenatal and postnatal period’s in-group or individual settings;
- Carrying out comprehensive health program in the schools;
- Assessing the needs of band members, making necessary referrals and assisting families;
- Pre and postnatal care;
- Communicable Disease Control & Tuberculosis programming;
- Providing direct care by assessing client health needs, planning care, implementing interventions & evaluating outcomes;
- Promote healthy lifestyles & health promotion;
- Act as a client advocate & a liaison between LLRIBHS & other agencies;
- Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Must be in good standing and registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS);
- Previous Public Health and/or Acute Care experience is an asset;
- Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset;
- Ability to speak/or understand Cree is a definite asset;
- Ability to work as a team member;
- Ability to travel to Outlying communities;
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
- Excellent problem solving & organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal & public relations skills;
- Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office;
- Must be able to work independently and be self-directed;
