(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)Required for Professional RegistrationJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Working without general supervision under the administrative direction of the Manager and as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team delivering care in the community setting, the Community Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services to referred clients; consultation for caregivers; and educates clients, caregivers, staff and the community on rehabilitation interventions.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Knowledge of current Physical Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; and Two (2) years' post graduate experience in physiotherapy. Community experience preferred. Valid BC Driver's License.Skills And Abilities
