- Act as an expert and point of reference to provide best-in-class internal communications assistance for various business units, levels of stakeholders and internal clients.
- Demonstrate leadership and proactivity in developing inspiring and persuasive key messages for various audiences in complex business environments and deploy strategies and tactics for cascading coherent information to the right audiences at the right times.
- Lead the development, coordination and execution of communication projects, plans, and activities that drive business priorities and program objectives.
- Prepare operational and strategic messages, toolkits, remarks, talking points, PowerPoint presentations, briefings, and other materials supporting significant internal change activities and events.
- Develop written and visual content, ensuring clarity and consistency, and making effective use of communication channels to reach and engage audiences.
- Manage, update, and improve internal communications channels and platforms, including the company intranet and other traditional and digital communications tools.
- Build and maintain strong networks with stakeholders with the ability to influence and negotiate collaboratively to drive a desired outcome favourable to business interests.
- Guide communication deliverables focused on the user experience, drawing on in-depth knowledge of communication best practices.
- Participate in administrative and planning tasks, including analytics and reporting activities.
- Collaborate on ad hoc projects and other communications activities as needed.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in internal communications and a corporate environment.
- University degree in communications, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Bilingual proficiency required to service client groups across Canada: 95% of responsibilities are performed in English, including writing in various styles and formats; high-level French proficiency is essential for accurate bilingual communication and documentation. English fluency at C1–C2 level is required.
- Meticulous writer, editor, and communicator with superior command of written English.
- Experience leading and implementing internal communications for cross-functional and organization-wide change projects.
- Proven ability to manage projects, with strong time management, organization, and prioritization capabilities to meet deadlines.
- Logical approach and exceptional attention to detail to simplify key messages and provide accurate information for target audiences.
- Experience in intranet content management and development using a SharePoint-based platform, as well as internal social media and collaborative tools.
- Keen interest in innovation and creativity, of which the ability to develop new approaches to communications.
- Proficient in designing visuals (image assets, renderings, pictures, etc.) Video editing is an asset.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and multitasking environment with tight timelines.
- A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Able to nurture strong interpersonal relationships founded on trust and collaboration.
- Strong work ethics (integrity, dependability, accountability) and good judgment (strict observance of confidentiality).
- Financial industry experience, an asset.
