Join us in office, three days a week to contribute, connect and excel in our vibrant environment.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
  • Work in cooperation with a multi-disciplinary project team to complete projects incorporating contaminated sites investigation and remediation and Geotech field programs.
  • Organize field programs including coordination with chemists and laboratory vendors to order sample bottles and jars, and coordination with field equipment managers and equipment vendors to arrange for field equipment
  • Assist with field work, including environmental monitoring, (soil, groundwater, soil vapor, surface water, etc.), coordination and review of utility locates and utility drawings, drilling oversight, surveying, and remediation contractor oversight,etc.
  • Recording field related notes using GHD digital data collection tools (e.g. field ipads).
  • During office work, assist with data compilation, analysis, evaluation and reporting under the supervision of a project manager
  • Communicate and liason with vendors and contractors in field.
What you will bring to the Team:
  • Recent college Diploma in an Earth Science, Environmental, or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician program or other relevant field
  • 0 to 2 years experience. Previous field experience is an asset but not required.
  • This position will require travel within southern Ontario and occasionally travelling in northern Ontario and other provinces for fieldwork. It is anticipated that this position will have up to 75% fieldwork and 25% office work. Certain field programs may take multiple days to complete field tasks.
  • Valid First Aid/AED Training certification considered an asset
  • Candidate must own a reliable vehicle and hold a valid full G Class driver's license
  • Self-starter and finisher, detail orientated, flexible, team player, and willing and able to do a wide variety of tasks.
  • Positive attitude, safety-mindedness, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage a variety of tasks and projects, and willingness to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
  • The salary for this position is $30,00. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
