POSITION GOAL:The Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials to support uninterrupted plant operations. This role manages MRO purchase orders, Kanban program execution, production-related orders, and supplier coordination while maintaining data integrity within Oracle and supporting cost, service, and process improvement initiatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with OE and MRO suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure a resilient and competitive supply base that meets current and future cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Lead the administration and ongoing optimization of the Kanban program, including item setup, replenishment parameters, supplier coordination, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct spend analysis, market assessments, and supplier evaluations to identify cost-reduction opportunities, support standardization efforts, and qualify or certify new suppliers and sources of supply.
  • Develop commodity and component negotiation strategies and lead negotiations related to parts pricing, tooling costs, and annual or multi-year supplier agreements, including contract renewals and re-negotiations.
  • Performs spend analysis and market testing to identify opportunity areas for cost reduction
  • Project manages the evaluation, certification, and implementation of new suppliers.
  • Create, manage, and follow up on production-related purchase orders to support manufacturing schedules and ensure material availability.
  • Support buyers and cross-functional teams in resolving pricing and supplier-related issues, including price holds, purchase price variances, and escalation management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and administrative files related to sourcing, contracting, and purchasing activities.
  • Support special projects or additional duties assigned by the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with purchasing processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting production environments and inventory replenishment models (e.g., Kanban).
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy, trends, and insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).
  • Experience maintaining and interpreting dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑starter able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Travel requirement: Less than 5%.
