If that sounds like you, this role is a strong next step.Parker Huggett has been engaged to recruit an Assistant Site Superintendent for a respected tier one general contractor delivering commercial and institutional projects across Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.As the Assistant Site Superintendent, you'll work alongside a Senior Superintendent, supporting the day-to-day execution of active construction sites. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure to all phases of construction while steadily building toward a future Superintendent position.
You'll be trusted with real responsibility, mentored by experienced site leadership, and given room to grow.Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting daily on-site operations to keep work progressing safely and on schedule
  • Coordinating subcontractors, trades, and deliveries
  • Assisting with site safety programs, toolbox talks, and compliance
  • Monitoring quality control and workmanship standards
  • Helping track schedules, deficiencies, and progress reports
  • Maintaining site documentation and contributing to problem-solving as issues arise
  • Acting as a visible, professional presence on site
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
  • Experience working on construction sites in an assistant or junior supervisory capacity
  • Exposure to commercial, institutional, or multi-unit projects (ICI experience is an asset)
  • Strong understanding of site safety practices and construction sequencing
  • A proactive, organized, and dependable work style
  • Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • A team-first mindset with the ambition to grow into a Superintendent role
