- Be responsible for the supplier contract process: structuring, implementation, and continuous improvement, with a strong IT focus
- Support contract owners in fulfilling their responsibilities by acting as an advisor and providing guidance
- Define frameworks that promote team autonomy while ensuring secure and compliant contractual practices
- Standardize and maintain contract templates, standard clauses, tools, and reference guides
- Ensure consistency in contract governance and risk management across the organization
- Coordinate annual contract audits with the Finance team
- Ensure mandatory legal review of contracts in accordance with the applicable contract procedure
- Provide support, as needed, to contract owners for other contracts
- Contribute to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating contractual risks, particularly in technological contexts and for critical contracts and suppliers
- Implement and evolve contract management tools (contract database, playbooks, guidelines, AI tools, etc.)
- Deliver annual training to contract owners to strengthen internal expertise and team autonomy
- Provide support on other legal matters as needed (commercial contracts, compliance, governance)
- Participate in legal monitoring, particularly in IT law and technology contracts
- Lawyer, member of the Quebec Bar or another Canadian bar (asset)
- Alternatively, a university degree in law
- Additional training in administration, procurement, or information technology (asset)
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, primarily in-house (experience in private practice would be an asset)
- Strong experience in:
- IT contracts (software, licenses, SaaS, cloud, managed services, hosting, etc.)
- Supplier and procurement contracts
- Solid experience in negotiation, analysis, and contract risk management
- Ability to act as a true business partner to operational teams
- Excellent understanding of legal, financial, and operational issues related to IT contracts and professional services
- Strong rigor and sense of responsibility in applying and evolving contract governance
- Excellent analytical, synthesis, and practical judgment skills
- Autonomy, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
- Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to simplify legal concepts
- Bilingualism in French and English required, both spoken and written
- Experience working closely with IT, Finance, or Procurement teams
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, contract registers, or negotiation playbooks
- Interest in continuous improvement and the use of technology, including AI, to support contract practices
