- Conduct timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize where necessary to achieve agreed deliverables to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Perform accurate engineering design and calculations
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes
- Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
- Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
- Produce accurate engineering lists including but not limited to: equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipe line and special work.
- Provide accurate material take-offs as and when required.
- Evaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for the purchase of mechanical equipment from vendors where necessary.
- Review vendor certified documentation and disseminate the information to the appropriate personnel for interface checking.
- Assist with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
- Register and file all relevant engineering documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest developments to Industry and Project specific codes, standards and related engineering matters.
- Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
- Contribute to engineers in trainings professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
- Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 8+ years post graduate experience in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical plant design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
- Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables.
