- Evaluate cash positions and manage urgent disbursements and payment decisions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring timely follow-ups on outstanding items.
- Address finance-related inquiries from management, internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Supervise timesheet submissions and billing procedures.
- Monitor finance and back-office operations, resolving any issues or bottlenecks.
- Execute weekly EFT and wire payments.
- Update financial forecasts and identify potential risks or variances.
- Manage semi-monthly payroll processes for multiple entities, including handling changes such as new hires and terminations.
- Lead month-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis against budgets and previous years.
- Present financial results and reports to management.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to contractors and placements.
- Track covenant compliance and prepare related reports.
- Calculate and manage commission payments.
- Compile executive summary reports for leadership and the board.
- Complete monthly and annual government filings and support quarterly bank compliance reporting.
- Assist with external audit processes.
- Extensive hands-on experience in finance and accounting.
- Proven track record in managing month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, reporting, and compliance.
- Comfortable working within a small team and taking charge of day-to-day finance operations.
- Ability to quickly adapt to an existing environment, providing stability during transitional periods.
- Experience in staffing or similar service-based industries is preferred.
- Familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous.
- Exposure to auditing practices is beneficial, although not mandatory.
