Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.Working within the Motion Business Area and reporting to the System Drives Commercial Sales Support Manager- Projects and Packaging, the Senior Proposal Specialist will be responsible to support the Motion System Drives Sales organization and Canadian customers throughout the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the offered products and technology, determining costs, preparing final competitive offer and documentation, and serving as a key technical and commercial resource for System Drives Projects and Packages including 3rd party suppliers.Your responsibilities
  • Preparing formal technical (equipment selection and sizing) and commercial offers, with clear contract terms.
  • Act as a reference for other team members of our System Drives Tendering team and aiding sales colleagues in specifying optimal, cost-effective solutions to meet customers’ needs and specifications.
  • Collaborating with our Supply Chain Management when offering packages with 3rd party vendors (identifying and evaluating potential vendors).
  • Providing assistance and input in customer meetings, product presentations and negotiations, ensuring the value we have to offer is communicated, understood, and appreciated.
  • Answering technical queries from engineering teams and delivering vital information to risk reviews.
  • Studying customers’ needs and competitors’ offerings through market intelligence and insight from sales team.
  • Presenting the proposed solutions to the customer with the sales team, either in face-to-face meeting or in virtual settings.
  • Handing over to the operation team on successful offers and participating in the project kick off meeting.
Your background
  • Engineering degree in relevant program or equivalent (Power electronics/Electrical Engineering), with over ten (10) years of related experience in Low and Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drives and Packaging (transformer, ehouse, switchgear, cooling systems), working as sales, product engineering, technical support or application engineering.
  • Comfortable to read, analyze and comment technical specification, datasheets and electrical drawings.
  • Self-motivation, problem solving, curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies.
  • Ability to coordinate with different stakeholders, internal and external.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken. communication skills, both in French and English.
  • French is required. English is also required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
  • Priority Management Skills, sense of urgency and respect of time commitments.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Working in virtual team and different time zone.
