We are proud of our diverse team of professionals who collaborate to develop and implement policies, programs and initiatives that promote student success and enhance educational outcomes across the territory.We are currently looking for a Child Care Inspector to join the Early Learning and Child Care team! Reporting to the Supervisor of Early Learning and Child Care, the Child Care Inspector is primarily responsible for licensing Early Learning and Child Care programs in the Yukon, and monitoring compliance to the Child Care Act, and Regulations. The position is responsible for receiving, reviewing, evaluating and investigating complaints from the public regarding early learning and childcare programs and conducting risk evaluation and assessments. The position also administers various funding programs, which support early learning and child care within the Territory.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a range of core competencies with particular strengths in the areas of Interpersonal Skills and Personal Responsibility, Strategic Thinking, Influencing Others and Taking Action and Achieving Results. - Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, or related education;
- Experience working in the area of early learning and child care, or in an early learning environment;
- Experience in administering, enforcing and interpreting policies and legislation;
- Experience overseeing and administering funding programs; and proficiency in numerical analysis and mathematical reasoning
- Experience writing detailed and accurate reports
