Fleet Maintenance Manager

- Continuously focus on achieving market base profitability through effective management of fleet and maintenance activities.
- Review capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines and objectives.
- Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
- Manage the effective utilization of vehicle assets.
- Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
- Ensure maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.
- Comply with Waste Management's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Assist in the budget process as required.
- Oversee personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees.
- Provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Conduct and/or attend periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships and promote morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Provide training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
- Update and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred) or High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Three (3) years of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license required with acceptable driving record.
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the work day.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds rarely.
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks rarely.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes occasionally.
- Normal setting for this job is an office setting.
