We’re expanding our Development team, and have an opportunity for an Exploitation Engineer to join our dynamic organization in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager of Development Planning, you play a pivotal role in optimizing the development of our significant Montney unconventional resource landbase. As a key player, you will lead initiatives that drive growth, in an efficient and value focused way.HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Project manage the medium term (10-15 years) development plan through integrated activities with a wide range of stakeholders. This includes appraisal planning, identifying development opportunities, building executable drilling location inventory, planning associated infrastructure and egress networks, and conducting economic evaluations and analysis
- Develop and refine growth opportunities through optimized area planning and scenario evaluation, in collaboration with subsurface, execution and strategy teams
- Contribute to the progression of Field Development Planning workflows, ensuring they meet corporate governance milestones for necessary updates and approvals
- Enhance area engineering activities by identifying improvement opportunities through benchmarking and researching industry best practices and emerging trends
- Conduct technical research to support field development, which includes gathering data/information, conducting surveys, developing data models, analyzing data, and interpretating results
- Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing functions to optimize midstream commitments and align with business strategies
- Work with a multi-disciplined team to identify and evaluate development trials and optimization opportunities to maximize the value of assets
- Provide support to the petroleum engineering team in booking corporate reserves and working with third party evaluators to ensure comprehensive assessments and interpretations are completed
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Development/Exploitation Engineering role or in an engineering project management role supporting a development discipline
- Proven work experience within unconventional resources with a thorough understanding of all aspects involved in managing a resource play
- Strong working knowledge and proficiency in Val Nav, Enersight, GeoScout, Generwell, or equivalent
- Detailed Development planning experience including the creation and optimization of full field development plans and models
- Working knowledge and experience in prediction of type curves and production performance for unconventional reservoirs is an asset
- Experience in production and/or reservoir engineering will be considered a benefit
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively work with cross functional teams and engage others to support projects and initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messages appropriately to address the target audience
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyTop of Form
