- This position is a drive-in/drive-out, or fly-in/fly-out role if you reside outside the Marathon/Manitouwadge, Ontario area.
- Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures by being a positive safety leader and prioritizing safe production.
- Provide front-line supervision and guidance to the production and development crews; motivate team members and deliver regular performance feedback.
- Coordinate all jumbo activities, including bolting, screening, and boring, ensuring efficiency and quality of development work.
- Oversee production drilling, mucking, and hauling operations to meet daily and long-term productivity targets and KPIs.
- Conduct daily safety interactions and required administrative tasks; mentor crew members on best practices and promote positive safety standards.
- Ensure the completed development headings are set up for stoping activities
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, planning, technical services) to optimize operational performance and working conditions.
- Support the rollout of new technologies and work practices being introduced at the Hemlo site.
- Prepare and submit accurate production reports and other operational documentation.
- Lead and facilitate crew line-up meetings, ensuring clear communication of shift priorities and expectations.
- Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others;
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalency;
- Minimum 5-10 years of underground mining experience;
- Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory role;
- Production mining experience is an asset, stope charging/stope drilling.
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core;
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- Frequently exposed to underground conditions including humidity, reduced lighting, noise, dirt, uneven terrain
- Frequently walking/standing on uneven, wet, or inclined surfaces for extended periods
- Occasionally climb ladders, on equipment, elevated work areas or escapeways
- Bending/Twisting - frequent, inspecting equipment and ground conditions
- Able to complete both fine and gross motor tasks with both hands
