Backed by a strong syndicate of institutional investors, we’re entering a period of scale-up, and seeking a visionary CFO to guide financial strategy through growth and commercialization.Role OverviewThe CFO at CABN will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, capital strategy, risk management, and reporting. This role is instrumental in scaling our modular housing platform, establishing financial discipline, and supporting CABN's advanced manufacturing initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial LeadershipLead the financial planning process, including long-term forecasting, budgeting, and investment strategies.Collaborate with executive leadership on growth planning, pricing models, unit economics, and housing development returns.Partner with the CEO to support capital fundraising, including equity, debt, and grant strategies.Cost Optimization & Supply Chain FinanceLead cost-reduction initiatives across construction, manufacturing, and operations.Develop supplier cost analysis frameworks to evaluate procurement strategies and negotiate more favorable terms.Partner with the operations team to drive continuous improvement in materials sourcing, vendor selection, and logistics efficiency.Accounting & OperationsOversee all accounting functions, financial systems, and internal controls.Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.Implement systems to support CABN’s evolving financial infrastructure (e.g., cost tracking for modular builds).Capital Markets & Investor RelationsManage reporting and communication with current institutional investors.Support future fundraising initiatives (Series A/B/C or infrastructure capital).Maintain investor dashboards, KPIs, and pro forma models.Risk Management & ComplianceEstablish a framework for financial risk identification and mitigation.Ensure regulatory and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.Lead insurance, legal, and compliance audits.Team Building & Systems ImplementationBuild and lead a lean finance and operations team.Evaluate and implement financial systems for construction, development, and manufacturing workflows.QualificationsCPA, CFA, or MBA with a strong finance and accounting background.10+ years experience in senior finance roles, preferably within:Prefab constructionReal estate developmentCleantech or venture-backed growth companiesProven track record in cost reduction strategies, supplier performance analysis, and operational efficiency improvements.Experience leading capital fundraising and scaling financial operations.Strong knowledge of financial modeling, project finance, and unit economics.Comfortable working in a mission-driven, high-growth, cross-functional environment.Preferred AttributesDeep understanding of housing development cycles, government funding, and infrastructure capital.Experience with modular or advanced manufacturing costing models.Passion for sustainability and impact-driven enterprises.CompensationCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceEquity participationBenefits package and performance incentives
