We’re looking for an on-site Cost Accountant in the manufacturing industry.Our client is a growing and innovative manufacturing company based in Surrey, B.C. The Cost Accountant will be a key business partner at the plant level, supporting operational efficiency and strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis.Cost Accountant responsibilities:
Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs, providing timely recommendations when performance targets are not met
Support strategic decision-making by aligning operational data with financial goals
Analyze production and operational data to identify trends and areas for process optimization
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and cost KPIs
Maintain accurate standard costing, including BOMs, routings, and production cost analysis
Monitor inventory movements and support physical counts and cycle counting
Assist in the development of plant-level budgets, forecasts, and financial models
Maintain the fixed asset ledger and track capital projects
Work closely with the Controller and President to provide analytical insights and support business strategy
The successful candidate has:
3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing or cost accounting
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred but not required
A strong understanding of cost accounting principles and ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting tools
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation and benefits:
Salary range is $70,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
