- Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prepares food items in a timely fashion following production time schedules, prescribed recipes, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participating in establishing and maintaining a home-like environment including the dining experience (serving meals, providing great customer service, working as a team).
- Prepares regular and modified foods for residents and customers in accordance with production guidelines and standardized recipes.
- Assists with menu development, serving food items, food ordering demonstration and cooking.
- Portion and serve food, attractively displayed based on resident choice and preference to meet individual dietary requirements at the required times.
- Participates in food and equipment product evaluation.
- Places food into appropriate serving containers, labels and delivers to hot holding units and records all associated temperatures,
- Maintains and sanitizes work area and all related equipment.
- Follows proper food handling procedures including maintaining food in a temperature safety zone. Initiates corrective action as required. Monitors food spoilage.
- Labels, dates, and stores food items appropriately.
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, steamers, dishwashers etc.
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other
- foods
- Maintains accurate food production and waste records.
- Practices safe and proper use of food service equipment.
- Open and/or closes the kitchen utilizing the required checklist.
- Identifies maintenance needs and submits work orders as appropriate.
- Attends all department/facility in-service orientation and other meetings and training as required.
- Maintains established Prince of Peace Place and Aramark policies, procedures and objectives for quality assurance and safety.
- Displays polite, spirit-of-service attitude towards residents and co-workers. Maintains friendly, efficient, and responsive attitude toward client and client's customers/residents while performing job duties.
- Willing to interact with co-workers in a team atmosphere in order to help find a better way to perform the job.
