
Senior Building Envelope Specialist

- Execution of projects within the realm of building envelope consulting such as the design and performance of building envelope systems for new buildings, and existing building repair/restoration/renewal, condition and forensic assessment.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance as a Project Principal leading small to large scale projects through effective management, team leadership, coordination, and participation in the delivery of projects thus ensuring a high level of service.
- Ensure the effective management of project budgets through cost control methods, scheduling and resourcing in order to meet project deliverables.
- Assist with research of new products and systems as needed for servicing your portfolio of projects.
- Design assistance, drawing and specification review for new construction projects.
- Computer aided analysis of building envelope details and performance.
- Forensic inspections of existing buildings to diagnose failures or determine the condition of various building envelope systems. Writing reports related to field work and research.
- Assisting with the preparation of tender specifications, drawings, and sketches.
- Field review and other contract administrative duties as required.
- Minimum 8 years’ work experience in building envelope consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering or architecture; or equivalent training.
- Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility for registration is considered an asset
- Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
- Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on swing stage.
- Knowledge and interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency and adaptation are considered an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment.
- Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
- Flexible working hours, 37.5 hour work week.
