The Director, Technology Strategy leads the strategic planning and execution of critical, cross-network technology initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Technology Strategy, this role is responsible for creating a vision and an actionable roadmap, defining program governance, and ensuring alignment across Network, IT, Product, Regulatory, and Operations. The position requires strong strategic judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to drive alignment among senior stakeholders.What you'll do:
- Serves as the program director for Rogers Satellite, responsible for defining the program vision, roadmap, and execution approach.
- Create direction for the 12 to 36-month technology roadmap with clearly sequenced milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
- Coordinates and aligns cross-functional teams (Network, IT, Product, Regulatory, Legal, Operations, Finance) to ensure priorities, timelines, and requirements are understood and acted on.
- Leads structured governance, including preparation and facilitation of steering committees, technical working groups, and cross-functional decision forums.
- Report weekly and monthly program status, risks, decisions, and progress to cross-functional leadership and to the ELT, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Act as the key point of interface with external satellite partners, aligning joint technical planning, integration workstreams, timelines, and milestones.
- Translates technical trade-offs into clear business implications and options for decision-making.
- Influences and mobilizes cross-functional teams that do not have direct reporting lines, ensuring alignment and momentum toward shared outcomes.
- Ensure all program elements adhere to regulatory, public-safety, and security requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; Master’s degree or Executive MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in technology strategy, network strategy, or program leadership within telecommunications or large-scale technology environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, multi-stakeholder programs with complex interdependencies.
- Strong executive communication skills with experience briefing senior leadership and boards.
- Proven ability to influence without authority and drive decisions across matrixed organizations.
- Experience working with public-safety, regulatory, or large-scale network requirements is an asset.
- Experience in satellite-to-mobile, non-terrestrial networks, or hybrid network architectures.
- Background in cross-company partnership or joint development program leadership.
- Strategic clarity and systems-level thinking.
- Strong analytical judgment and structured problem solving.
- Clear communicator able to simplify complex issues for senior leadership.
- Collaborative leader with strong alignment-building capability.
