Career Services is going through its own transformation, and as a high performing team, this will enable us to innovate and build an agile ecosystem that delivers new services and experiences for our students and partners.About the RoleReporting to the Manager, Partner Engagement, this is a multi-faceted position that leads a team focused on partner engagement and experiential learning opportunities. This includes supporting recruitment of new staff, training or assigning mentors, ongoing coaching, team meetings, assisting the manager with performance reviews and oversight of the partner engagement team. While conducting day-to-day supervisory responsibilities, this position will liaise with the Manager, Partner Engagement, industry partners, and faculty for the programs and partnerships they support. The Team Lead, Partner Engagement is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and promoting partner engagement initiatives, experiential and work integrated learning programs, for facilitating partnerships that create meaningful learning opportunities for students, for managing relationships with industry and community partners, and for the general development and administration of partner engagement programs, innovation initiatives and integrated events. This position is also accountable to both lead and participate in team-based projects as a collaborative means to achieve departmental and institutional objectives.ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership and Partner Engagement Coordination
  • Support recruitment and selection of new staff, new employee orientation, training and coaching, and assist with performance assessment including setting realistic daily productivity goals, monitoring results and problem solving to best meet partner and student needs and produce targeted outcomes.
  • Lead planning, implementation and evaluation of partner engagement services, programs and communication strategies at team and department levels.
  • Ongoing quality control and problem solving is required to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
  • Plan and monitor area outcome measurement and performance targets and lead goal execution and planning at a team level.
  • Lead, participate and support partner engagement initiatives, pilots and projects with other departments and teams across campus as a collaborative means to achieve departmental and institutional objectives.
  • Approve and potentially assist with coverage for coordinators.
  • Support the relationship marketing framework and assist team members in building and deepening relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and Execute Partner Engagement and Experiential Learning Programs
  • Collaborate to develop, implement and assess strategic and operational planning for delivery of assigned partner engagement and experiential learning programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry and community partners to create diverse experiential opportunities aligned with student and partner needs.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive partnership engagement plan in alignment with the strategic plan of the university and department business objectives.
  • Review available resources, research and acquire resources to support partnership development and student learning opportunities.
  • Monitor partner engagement metrics, partnership satisfaction, and program outcomes, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Continually evaluate feedback from students, partners, and stakeholders, take corrective action and restructure plans as required.
  • Design and implement strategies to increase and maintain strong partner engagement, program retention, and success while continuously monitoring outcomes.
  • Collaborate to support proposal writing, special project execution, outcomes measurement, reporting, and all necessary aspects of funded initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for partner engagement events, networking opportunities, and experiential learning showcases.
Partner Relations and Program Support
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Career Services and industry/community partners for assigned programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and partners to ensure smooth implementation of experiential learning opportunities.
  • Support partners in understanding MRU programs, student capabilities, and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Liaise with the Career Services team members to ensure that partnership development and experiential learning requirements are met across programs.
  • Lead timely interventions when partnership or program issues arise, working with the Partner Engagement team to promptly and effectively support all stakeholders.
  • Monitor partnership agreements, ensure timely provision of reports to funders and partners including feedback, metrics, success stories, and engagement data.
  • Support revenue generation activities by assisting with partnership proposals, contract implementation, and fulfillment of partnership agreements.
  • Coordinate hospitality for partner events and programs ensuring positive partner experience.
Qualifications
  • Three or four year Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience in partner engagement, relationship management, business development, or related field.
  • Experience in higher education, work-integrated learning, or experiential education is preferred.
  • Leadership or team coordination experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of partner engagement, business development, or relationship management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to implement change and coach a wide variety of team members.
  • Tactful and diplomatic with demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Expertise in data collection, outcome measurement, and assessment.
  • Excellent team player able to work on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Technology proficient with CRM systems, databases, and partnership management tools.
  • Understanding of higher education environment and university-industry partnerships.
  • Budget planning and financial management skills.
