  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Carpentry.
  • Experience in oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Word, and Excel is considered a strong asset.
Trade / Scope Specific project responsibilities, including, but not limited to: * Inspect existing carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Diagnose the condition of carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Recommend best-fit solutions for carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Service and repair carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Construct new infrastructure.
  • Assemble and install new and replacement carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and components.
  • Communicate inspection results, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and components.
  • Document inspection results, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of carpentry scope infrastructure, equipment, and components.
  • Follow safety guidelines, approved processes, and procedures on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity.
  • Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors.
  • Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.
PPE RequirementsAll Carpenter Journeyman personnel are required to wear and maintain the following personal protective equipment (PPE) while on site:
  • CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots
  • Hard hat (CSA-approved)
  • High-visibility vest or clothing
  • Protective gloves suitable for carpentry work
  • Safety glasses or goggles
  • Hearing protection in designated high-noise areas
  • Flame-resistant (FR) clothing where required
  • Fall protection equipment (harness, lanyard, anchorage) when working at heights
CP Services provides all required PPE and ensures personnel are trained in its proper use and maintenance in accordance with Alberta OHS legislation and site-specific requirements.Work EnvironmentThe Carpenter Journeyman role is based on industrial oil and gas worksites, which may include:
  • Remote or rotational camp environments
  • Elevated work areas requiring fall protection
  • Confined spaces (mechanical rooms, scaffolded areas, structural enclosures)
  • Exposure to dust, noise, heat, and variable weather conditions
  • Outdoor construction and maintenance areas
All personnel are expected to follow site-specific safety protocols, participate in required safety orientations, and maintain compliance with all Alberta OHS regulations. CP Services prioritizes a safe working environment and ensures employees have the necessary training, supervision, and equipment to perform their duties safely.Please note the successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol, fit for work exam, Respiratory Fitness Test, Mask Fit Test, provided by C.P. Services.Applicants must already hold the following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain them at their own expense prior to commencing work.General Certifications Required: * Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Valid Drivers Abstract - No more than 4 demerit points
