Required Qualifications:Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA). Additional Required Qualifications:Must be a graduate from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy and eligible to write, or have passed, the National Respiratory Certification Exam as administered by the Canadian Board for Respiratory Care (CBRC). Current basic life support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, have a positive attitude, highly motivated, and able to work in a team and independently. Maintaining current active registration in good standing with CARTA throughout employment is required, along with current basic life support (BLS-HCP) certification and annual proof of active certification. Quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations, demonstrating competency in all phases of the job and adaptability to new procedures and information. Staying current with advances in respiratory therapy as well as departmental practices, policies, and procedures is essential. Clear communication, organization, and consistency of ideas, both verbal and written, including clinical documentation are expected. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude who aligns with AHS Values. Quick and decisive action using critical thinking and problem-solving skills is essential, as is sound judgment through analyzing facts, considering impacts, and seeking counsel when appropriate. Preferred Qualifications:The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, fostering effective interpersonal relationships with peers and other caregivers. Reliability, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks are also necessary.
