- Provide visible safety leadership by conducting toolbox talks and safety meetings, reinforcing a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with SMS and Suncor safety standards, Safe Work Practices, FLRAs, and PPE requirements.
- Lead day-to-day shift execution by assigning and coordinating work for MEM and MMA technicians supporting the 980 haul truck fleet.
- Monitor job progress throughout the shift and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with scope and schedule expectations.
- Ensure maintenance work meets OEM and MEM standards and that service reports, photos, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Support team development by coaching technicians, setting clear performance expectations, and promoting skill growth and accountability.
- Identify equipment issues, repeat failures, or abnormal trends and escalate to Reliability or OEM / Technical Support as required.
- Act as the primary onsite point of contact for Suncor Maintenance, providing clear communication on job status, findings, risks, and delays.
- Coordinate parts requirements and support warranty work and factory campaigns, ensuring technicians complete required documentation.
- Complete required administrative and system duties, including time approvals, shift reporting, and maintaining accurate and audit-ready records.
- Previous experience in a Lead Hand or Supervisory role, with the ability to guide, coach, and support technician development.
- Strong understanding of Suncor safety systems, including permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and site compliance requirements.
- Proven commitment to safety, including participation in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and reinforcing a strong safety culture.
- High standard for documentation, reporting, and communication, ensuring work history and records are accurate and audit-ready.
- Strong technical judgement with the ability to identify equipment issues, support troubleshooting, and participate in technical discussions.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and documentation.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
