As our Health and Safety Coordinator, you will support the administration of BWXT Canada Ltd.’s Field Services Environmental Health and Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with all applicable legislation. You will maintain and update safety procedure manuals, deliver training and guidance to personnel, and help foster a strong culture of safety across the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Human Performance & EHS, this role does not have direct reports but involves regular communication with employees to reinforce policies and health and safety regulations, as well as with external regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and positive working relationships. This is an entry level position open to new graduates with prior co-op experience.Location:On-site, Kitchener, ONYour Day to Day as our Health and Safety Coordinator:
- Ensure safe work practices through monitoring, audits, and inspections of Field Services activities and training sites.
- Update, communicate, and help develop EHS policies and procedures.
- Support incident investigations, reporting, and safety data analysis.
- Deliver safety orientations and training, and track employee compliance.
- Prepare safety communications and participate in internal safety committees.
- Manage safety-related resources, equipment, and preventive maintenance.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of BWXT’s Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Post-secondary degree (4-year bachelor) or College diploma or certificate in an occupational health and accident prevention or equivalent practical experience;
- Prior experience in a role related to occupational health and safety;
- Strong organizational, computer and communication skills;
- Previous experience in the construction or nuclear industry is an asset.
