- Monitor and evaluate project costs against established budgets, schedules, and milestones to ensure alignment.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly project performance reviews, including variance analyses and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to address cost overruns and recommend corrective measures.
- Support accurate forecasting and cash flow planning by analyzing real-time data and trends.
- Verify the accuracy of job cost coding for accounts payable, payroll, and procurement entries.
- Assist with financial reporting, including percentage of completion accounting and compliance.
- Conduct analyses of trends, risks, and productivity metrics to enhance executive-level reporting.
- Provide root cause analysis for cost deviations and offer strategic solutions for improvement.
- Strong understanding of construction cost structures, general ledger processes, and job costing principles.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to explain financial performance metrics to both field and executive stakeholders.
- Expertise in root cause analytics for cost deviations and recommending actionable solutions.
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, ideally with a focus on project or activity-based costing.
- Skilled in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Experience with month-end close processes and creating dashboards for financial reporting.
- Ability to forecast and develop reporting dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
