  • Maintains production equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime.
  • Improves reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to ensure operation of all equipment, in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Provide technical guidance on machine setup and standard operating procedures.
  • Fabricate parts, as required.
  • Supports site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a work place that is clean and safe.
  • Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
  • Checks and refills lubricant reservoirs, applies grease to lubricant points, inspects machinery while performing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Operates shop tools, equipment, and as many machines related to maintenance as skill level will permit
  • Able to make repairs and adjustments to machinery and assist in dismantling all or parts of machinery to repair or replace defective components
  • Assists in electrical projects and performs minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Understands basic electrical and pneumatic diagrams, familiar with 12 VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring or circuits and capable of diagnosing 110 VAC control circuitries
  • Assists in pipe fitting tasks and able to perform some installation tasks unassisted
  • Performs certain portions of repairs to power industrial equipment, assists in rebuilding of related equipment
  • Maintains and services a range of building equipment such as HVAC, lighting, water and sewer, etc.
  • Assists in the installation and setup of new plant equipment
  • Participate in a team atmosphere to troubleshoot and solve issues, as well as generate ideas on how to improve equipment performance, efficiency and safety.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.This is a union position, and the wage is as stated in the union agreement. Currently the wage for this role is between $33.43 and $35.52 per hour. The actual wage offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
