Job Requisition ID #24WD76353Position OverviewThe Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) Group at Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled research intern for Summer 2024 or earlier at our Toronto office located in the MaRS Discovery District. The ideal intern will conduct research and develop prototype code to solve engineering design optimization problems.ResponsibilitiesConduct original research in developing or applying novel techniques for solving design optimization problems, including but not limited to:Shape or topology optimizationMultidisciplinary design optimizationMultiphysics design optimizationSystem-level or multi-component optimizationImplement prototypes to test and demonstrate the ideas and methodsWork with both open-source libraries and in-house libraries to develop the prototypesWrite documentation of the work, either as academic publication or internal white paperContribute to the technical expertise of the SOS Group by conducting learning sessionsMinimum QualificationsCurrently pursuing a PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related disciplinesExperience and excellent knowledge of C++ and PythonExperience in implementing numerical methods for solving partial differential equations and gradient-based optimization algorithmsExperience in one of the following optimization topics: shape or topology optimization, multidisciplinary design optimization, multi-physics design optimization, system-level or multi-component optimizationExperience in publishing at top-tier conferences and journalsAbout AutodeskWith Autodesk software, you have the power to Make Anything.
