The Pastry Cook plays a key role in bringing desserts and baked goods to life, supporting the team with consistency, care, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPastry Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections following established recipes and standards.
- Assist in assembling plated desserts and finishing touches with a focus on consistency and presentation.
- Support mise en place and daily production to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Follow direction from Chef de Partie and Pastry leadership to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in accordance with HACCP and sanitation standards.
- Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Use kitchen and pastry equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with inventory and stock management as required.
- Work collaboratively with the pastry and culinary team to support service across all outlets.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow.
- Contribute to a respectful, supportive, and high-energy kitchen environment.

- Culinary or Pastry training (formal education or equivalent experience preferred).
- 1-3 years' experience in a kitchen, bakery, or pastry environment.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and kitchen operations.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow direction and learn.
- Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP; FOODSAFE certification an asset.
- Physical stamina to work in a kitchen environment; able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- A positive, team-first mindset with a passion for pastry and hospitality.
- Experience in a hotel or high-volume pastry kitchen.
- Interest in developing skills in plated desserts, chocolate, or artisan baking.
- A passion for local ingredients and creative presentation.
- A curiosity and eagerness to grow within the culinary field.
- Continuous standing for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching above/below shoulder height.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 lbs / 10 kg.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs / 23 kg.
- Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment for extended shifts.
