The Production Supervisor will play a critical role in leading production operations at their corrugated facility.Role DescriptionReporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and supervising production employees while ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards. Your focus will be on establishing departmental procedures, promoting safety culture, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As you work closely with your team and other departments, you will help develop a culture of safety, collaboration, and operational excellence.Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and guidance to production employees, coaching and developing their capabilities to achieve optimal performance.
- Organizing and maintaining an effective workflow to ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Establishing departmental procedures and ensuring all policies and procedures are consistently followed across the production team.
- Facilitating and encouraging effective communications between team members, departments, and management.
- Identifying and addressing areas of concern, seeking innovative solutions for resolution and process improvement.
- Promoting and ensuring quality in all aspects of department functions, maintaining Maritime Paper's high standards.
- Establishing and maintaining a healthy working relationship and strong safety culture with supervisors and department employees to ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Identifying best practices and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Assisting the Plant Manager in preparing and implementing action plans and continuous improvement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Working rotating shift schedules as required to support 24/7 production operations.
- Promoting and instilling an OH&S culture, ensuring employees follow all safety protocols.
- Proven experience supervising in a unionized manufacturing workplace with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to work rotating shift schedules and adapt to changing production demands.
- Post-secondary education with a focus on manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control, or materials management would be an asset.
- Ability to deliver significant impact in a fast-paced environment against changing priorities with limited resources.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- First Aid Training, or the willingness to receive training upon hire.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team environment with minimal supervision.
