- Providing leadership and guidance to a team of housekeeping associates
- Responsible and accountable for administration of all budgetary practices
- Ensures all quality and risk protocols are followed
- Ensures the Housekeeping Department provides a safe, clean and aseptic environment in which optimal resident/patient safety and care can be best realized
- Plans and coordinates orientation and training programs to ensure all staff develop skills to enable them to function efficiently in this fast paced and consistently changing environment.
- Responsible for the management of both departments, optimizes the use of human and capital resources through development, training, monitoring and evaluating staff while working within budgetary guidelines
- High School diploma
- Certificate in Housekeeping/Laundry Management Practices would be considered and asset
- Demonstrated experience working with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care regulations preferred
- Considerable management experience in Environmental/Housekeeping services with demonstrated progressive leadership abilities
- Ability to manage change through leadership and motivation
- Ability to establish relationships with a variety of contacts including internal and external contacts on a local, provincial, national and international level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
