- Post-secondary education in a related field, or a combination of education, training, and experience relevant to the role;
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting security systems and related equipment;
- Experience providing technical advice and recommendations on security systems to various stakeholders;
- Experience with installation, maintenance, testing, and integration of integrated security systems;
- Experience conducting residential security vulnerability assessments and inspections, an asset;
- Experience installing, testing, and integrating security systems and equipment, including residential systems, an asset;
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, identify and solve problems and work simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
- Knowledge of current security system standards, operations, and specifications;
- Thorough understanding of security system operations and design;
- Experience with:
- Point monitoring and alarm control systems;
- CCTV and intercom systems;
- Computerized security systems and related software.
- Knowledge of video surveillance systems, including installation, programming, and maintenance;
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings and reports.
