- Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed.
- Transition to construction, monitors construction infrastructure and critical path.
- Establishing and maintaining project budget.
- Enforces change procedures.
- Establishes schedule and staffing plans.
- Negotiates and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon.
- Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely.
- Oversees testing, quality, and safety.
- Manages client and vendor relationship.
- Project risks and issues are logged and managed.
- Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins.
- Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis.
- Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets.
- Overseeing procurement including materials and subcontractors.
- Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline.
- 5 - 10 years track construction experience from site-based roles.
- Experience in managing small teams and sub-contractors.
- Experience in performing risk assessments including mitigating risks in design.
- Demonstrated ability to breakdown and plan large / complex construction stages.
- General knowledge of Track and heavy civil construction methods.
- In addition, applicants will be required to demonstrate deep technical project management expertise and understanding of regulatory requirements in one or more of Aecon's operating markets (Heavy Civil, Utilities, Rail).
- P.Eng designation is considered an asset.
