Our expert solutions encompass an array of game-changing technologies, including state-of-the-art sonar, radar, expendables, signature management, and naval power systems.Join us in shaping the future of naval warfare and together, we will safeguard the seas and empower navies worldwide!The Ultra Quality function is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and fulfilment of Ultra's Quality Policy, which is to comply fully in the conduct of the Company's business with all applicable regulatory and customer required specifications, and to maintain an effective Quality Management System, working in partnership with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure that products and processes conform to applicable standards and specifications, and the incidence and costs of quality non-conformances are constantly monitored and improved, while maintaining the highest practicable standards of manufacturing productivity and efficiency.
The function is responsible for all quality assurance activities related to suppliers and subcontractorsNationality RequirementsCandidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
  • Responsible for all quality assurance activities related to suppliers and subcontractors
  • Responsible for the performing supplier assessments
  • Responsible for the executing supplier audits
  • Providing quality input to supplier selection
  • Facilitating supplier performance reviews and maintaining associated supplier performance metrics
  • Understanding and prioritizing supplier development needs across programs and business functions
  • Providing technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery
  • Performing and facilitating investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements
  • Providing guidance to project teams on the usage of Ultra Maritime’s quality management system
  • Providing quality awareness training
  • Ensuring risk management and associated tools are being maintained and reviewed effectively
  • Advocate quality and its importance throughout the Ultra Maritime
Required Skills:
  • Diploma, graduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 plus years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel to visit other Ultra Maritime sites and suppliers
  • Experience in managing non-conformance reports
  • Auditing experience
  • Experience in supplier sourcing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and program management
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and expertise to develop and execute objectives
  • The successful candidate must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government NATO security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Desired Skills:
  • Working knowledge of IFS ERP would be an advantage
  • Internal auditor - Lead auditor preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015
  • Knowledge of AQAP / Defense Standards an advantage
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / 620 an advantage
  • Member of a relevant recognized chartered body
  • Ability to deliver under pressure with an appetite for measured success
  • Collaborative working with people with a diverse range of backgrounds
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellence
  • High attention to detail and good time management skills
