Join our growing team where everyone belongs!Position DetailsWhat You Will Do:
Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc journal entries for the Insurance legal entities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements
Reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g. high volume, routine transactions or low volume, non-routine transactions) and investigate discrepancies
Assist in reviewing significant variances from budget to actual
Assist with preparing and filing P&C regulatory reporting requirements, as necessary
Assist in certain special projects as part of the Company's continuous improvement initiatives
Perform monthly and ad-hoc reports and analysis for finance and other departments
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Accounting)
Pursuing CPA designation (typically has just started the CPA PEP program and is working towards writing the final exam)
1-3 years of significant accounting experience would be an asset
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Strong understanding of accounting systems
Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated analytical skills
Assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines
