- Provide leadership and co-ordinate the expediting activities on a project under the direction of the project Procurement Manager. Provides oversight, guidance and mentorship to other expeditors.
- Prepare Expediting Execution Plan, Control Plan with expediting budget, establish levels of expediting and report on actual spend.
- Expedite all project equipment/materials/documents in accordance with the expediting plan
- Monitor vendor engineering and manufacturing schedules to ensure schedule is maintained and pro-actively manage any possible delays • Ensure that the data for reporting is complete and accurate.
- Report current status through the Hatch core system and issues weekly status reports to the project functions
- Maintain a proactive approach to anticipate potential problems and take appropriate action, when necessary, before delays occur
- Request corrective actions and follow-up on application
- Coordination of information relating to packing lists and delivery documentation including any documentation required for export purposes
- Ensure all relevant release documentation is issued as per the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
- Interface with client and project members regarding expediting issues
- Coordination and communication with vendor and internal disciplines using iPas MP or other forms of reporting to maintain project schedules and prevent any delays
- Coordinate with Vendor Quality Surveillance to ensure the scheduled inspections are performed timely and Non Conformity Reports, when applicable, are handled efficiently to avoid any delays to the schedule.
- Coordinate with logistics to facilitate delivery as per the purchase order pending on Incoterms conditions specified in the purchase order.
- Ensure that all purchase orders are closed out in accordance with project specific procedures/requirements
- Relevant technical qualification or trade qualification in relevant discipline
- Relevant 10-15+ years’ experience as an Expeditor with a proven track record
- High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, fabrication processes and supply items
- Ability to confirm that delivery dates of materials and supply items comply with all requirements
- Ability to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives and strong deliverable focus
- Knowledge of preservation and packaging procedures to ensure that transported materials or items are free from damage and to ensure that materials or items to be shipped are marked, packaged and preserved in accordance with all requirements
- Working knowledge of SmartPlant system (or similar) is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of project execution, especially materials management, scheduling, procurement, contracting, pre-operational verification, commissioning methodologies and risk assessment
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 19011
