Independent Respiratory Services (IRS) is a BC operated full service respiratory company. We have been providing sleep apnea and home oxygen therapy to British Columbians since 1996.
We are committed to providing outstanding respiratory therapy, timely reporting of results and ongoing client care.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Supporting patients through home sleep apnea testing, and education. Initiation of cpap and bipap therapy and ongoing educational support. Oxygen assessments and equipment set up and education.Conduct appointments and set-up of equipment for sleep diagnostic testing based on
American Academy Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
● Evaluate client therapies based on referrals and then determine respiratory therapy
treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
● Initiate PAP therapy when prescribed, providing patients with education, instructions of
use, and cleaning and maintaining of their equipment.
● Provides appropriate regular follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of therapeutic care,
recommending adjustments and modifications if required to increase compliance and
comfort with therapy.
● Actively promotes related products and provides solutions to client needs.
● Responsible for maintaining most up to date continuing education as related to the
position to ensure that clients are receiving most current therapies and devices.
● Recognizes the importance of client safety in the Air Liquide Healthcare organization.
● Responsible for following established company protocols for the cleaning and
disinfection of all equipment.
● Responsible for all required administration tasks.
● Responsible for complying and maintaining knowledge of all funding processes and
systems.
● Ensures quality documentation through completion of all company documentation and
forms (both digital and non-electronic) as per policy.
● Maintains client confidentiality and protects Air Liquide Healthcare’s operations by
keeping information confidential.
● Seeks to continuously improve the operation of the branch by evaluating processes and
workflow, and participating in other quality improvement activities.
● Provides new staff and student instruction, supervision and evaluation when necessary.
● Participates in oxygen and other respiratory services including on call when required.Staff providing diagnostic sleep services (HSAT) are qualified + competent as per provincial regulatory bodies (BC-DAP + AB-CPSA).Are you a MATCH?
  • College Certificate or Diploma in a Technical/ Medical Science field where permitted
● Registered Respiratory Therapist
● Registered Nurse or RPN/LPN
● RPSGT or CCSH
● CPSGT Where designated by provincial regulatory bodies (BC-DAP + AB-CPSA)
● College Certificate or Diploma in a Technical/ Medical Science field where permitted
● Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body
● Good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP therapy
